About

Mayro, an intentional misspelling of "Mario", is a poorly drawn version of the character Mario from the Super Mario franchise who is the protagonist of the Supra Mayro Bross series of Flash games.

Origin

On November 3rd, 2011, Facepunch Forums[1] user named Eric95 submitted a link to a Flash game titled Supra Mayro Bross: Legend of the Lost Kingdom. The game features an MS Paint-style recreation of the original Super Mario Brothers Nintendo Entertainment System 2D platformer, accompanied by a jarring electric guitar rendition of the game's theme song (shown below).

Spread

On July 25th, 2012, Eric95 released a playable parody of Mario Kart titled Supra Mayro Kratt on the Flash gaming website Kongregate.[2] In this game, the player can race a go-kart as either Mayro, Luggy or Joshy on 2 different courses (shown below).

On August 27, YouTuber Vinesauce uploaded a video in which the host Vinny plays Supra Mayro Kratt while providing commentary about the game (shown below). In nearly 3 years, the video gained over 393,000 views and 1,100 comments. The following year, Márk Morshu made an animated version of part of the Vinesauce video using Valve's Source Filmmaker software(shown below, right). In 11 months, the video obtained more than 125,000 views and 240 comments in 11 months
