The McDonald's Sing commercial is a promotional video for McDonald's Happy Meals that had a tie in with the 2016 Illumination movie Sing. After being mentioned on 4Chan, the ad quickly spread over the internet, spawning multiple remixes and parodies.

Origin

The commercial, which originally ran from late December 2016 to mid-January 2017, shows various characters from the Sing movie ordering Happy Meals in the form of a song.

On January 5, 2017, a thread called "Yeah, can I get a happy meal! and some mcnuggets" showed up on 4chan's /co/ forum. Commenters on the thread made fun of various aspects of the commercial, mainly the fact that most of the characters in the ad were too old to order a Happy Meal.
