Some TikTokers also use the song to make comedy skits in the same vein as the trend, regaling fictional or comedic stories with adults.

Origin

"Miami My Amy" was released by Keith Whitley as part of the album L. A. To Miami on January 27th, 1986[1] (shown below).

TikTok Trend

In March 2022 the song became the subject of a trend on TikTok where users recount wholesome and funny moments that happened to them in the past, often when they were a kid, where an adult acted in a positive manner toward them, using still photos either from that moment or to represent the adults. For example, on March 19th, 2022, TikTokers[2][3] @moomoo.farms and @adelespenc posted videos recounting wholesome experiences with a store clerk (shown below, left) and elderly customers at a restaurant (shown below, right), gaining over 3.8 million and 4.8 million views respectively in a month. On March 23rd, The Boot[5] published an article on the trend.
