The "Muppets With People Eyes" meme began late December 2010 on Tumblr. It was simple enough: Take an image one of the beloved characters from your childhood (it could be from the Muppets or Sesame Street), add human eyes to replace their puppet eyes, and you're done. The result is always disturbing, and impossible to erase from your memory. Eventually, the meme caught on, and was reported by local news, blogs, and even Time Magazine.
