About

"Muting This!" Ok Who Gaf refers to a reaction image based on a tweet by X / Twitter user @LeonFromOhio, also known as Blue Invincible. The reaction image achieved virality on X / Twitter where it has been used in two distinct ways: to indicate that one is muting their thread and to react to posts in which other users announce that they are using the mute function. The reaction image has been used on X / Twitter since early 2024, with a comic panel of the superhero character Invincible wearing a blue-and-black suit gaining association with it.

Origin

Prior to February 4th, 2024, X / Twitter user BLUE invincible (@LeonFromOhio) wrote, "Muting this!" Ok who gaf" (post shown below). The original post has since been deleted. The likely meaning of the post is making fun of users who publicly announce that they have muted replies to their post ("nobody cares that you muted your post").

Spread

On April 30th, 2024, X[2] user @basilries reposted the image, using it to react to their own announcement that they are muting their post. The reaction (shown below) garnered 980 likes in one year.

The image saw more use on X / Twitter throughout 2024 and 2025, typically used to react to other users muting their posts, and to users muting their own posts.

Notably, on November 2nd, 2024, X[3] user @katsixki made a post using the image that received over 110 reposts and 10,000 likes in four months (shown below).
