On January 30th, 2025, indie video game developer @vidhvat (also known as quicktequila) shared a 15-second clip from their upcoming video game TAMASHIKA on X,[1] commenting, "my indie game for 15 seconds." The video showed gameplay from the game, a fast-paced arcade corridor shooter with psychedelic graphic design. The post (shown below) garnered over 14.9 million views, 15,000 reposts, and 136,000 likes in four days.

The post was followed by other indie video game developers sharing clips from their games with the same caption, with multiple posts going viral on X / Twitter. For example, on January 30th, 2025, developer The WIld Gentleman (@RetroSpaceGame) quoted the post with the gameplay of their game RetroSpace, with their post gaining over 830 reposts and 9,000 likes on X[2] in four days (shown below).


Additionally, the original post inspired discussions of TAMASHIKA, as well as various jokes on X / Twitter.
