About

#mything is a catchphrase/hashtag where "thing" may be replaced by another word, such as "twig" (as in the origin post), "stim", "brainworm", etc.

Origin

#mything seems to have originated from Tumblr user amnesiaguy's 2024 Tumblr post and spread from there; if there is an earlier origin, it is uncertain. Tumblr user gumi-megpoidd 2025 Tumblr post made reference to it, and discussion in the comments and reblogs led to the general agreement that the #mytwig post was the origin. Given that the amnesiaguy #mytwig post has at time of writing this entry over 100K likes and over 100K reblogs, its wide reach supports the discussion.
