Nick Shocks Judy is a meme template from the DeviantArt fancomic I Will Survive by Borba. The meme uses a panel from Nick Wilde saying something to Judy Hopps, which is drawn visibly shocked from the statement. This panel more than others from the comic has seen a lot of use as an exploitable.

Origin

On April 26th, 2017, Borba uploaded the page featuring the meme template, which takes place in the middle of Nick and Judy's argument about her pregnancy and willingness to get an abortion. Nick makes a statement that Judy's willingness to do anything for her career includes killing their baby, which creates the exaggerated face from Judy^[1] (shown below).

One of the first recorded uses of the panel as a meme comes from the Twitter account @Koboldium^[2], which used it to have Nick asking Judy if she's heard about Video Games, with her expression being changed to one of anguish, posted on December 6th, 2017 (shown below).

Spread

The post on December 6th was the first of many posts using the template that immediately started to crop up, with Nick Shocking Judy edits coming from multiple different websites at once. On December 8th, iFunny user Pyrosancal_2015^[3] uploaded a Party Rockers In The House Tonight meme using the format (shown below).

On panel 20 of the original comic, Judy slaps Nick for his shocking remark, which is sometimes incorporated into the meme with Nick saying something and Judy slapping him as a rebuttal. This is best seen in the meme uploaded to Twitter by @Tilton_Raccoon^[4] on December 7th, 2017, in which Nick proclaims that Taco Bell is the same five ingredients, earning a slap from Judy (shown below).
