On July 6th, 2018, Samuelson launched the @damnlongneck[1] Twitter feed. The same week, the @damnlongneck[4] Instagram feed was created. Over the next five months, the Instagram account accumulated upwards of 1.2 million followers. On August 8th, 2018, YouTuber Michael McCrudden uploaded a video about Samuelson's pre-internet fame life (shown below).

On October 14th, 2018, Samuelson was interviewed on an episode of Toshi.0 (shown below). Over the next two years, the Comedy Central upload of the segment reached over 127,000 views and 290 comments on YouTube.

Supreme Patty Collaboration

On November 24th, 2018, Supreme Patty uploaded a video in which he rides a bike with Samuelson sitting on the front, parodying a scene from the 1982 science fiction film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (shown below). Within two weeks, the video received more than 48,000 views on Facebook.

"All Necks Matter"

On December 1st, 2018, the @DamnWideNeck Twitter feed posted a video in which Charles McDowell confronts Samuelson before the pair look at the camera and proclaim "all necks matter" (shown below).
