Dmitriy Nortenko: Hill 937

This painting by Dmitriy Nortenko is based on the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Hamburger_Hill">Battle of Hamburger Hill</a> where US airborne were ordered to storm a heavily fortified, but strategically worthless hill.

They suffered very heavy losses, but they managed to capture the hill. However, due to the strategic worthlessness of the hill, the position was abandoned shortly afterwards.
