On Sunday February 21st, 2010 the 2 millionth (2,000,000) post on 4chan was an image of Ninetails, a Pokemon. Making posts with interesting/notable post numbers on 4chan is known as a GET and thus this "200M GET" is something of an accomplishment for some uncredited member of Anonymous.

Very shortly after the 200M GET 4chan became completely unavailable for approximately 10 minutes. {{citation needed}}

The Post Itself

The post read "IT WILL BE MINE. BELONG TO NINETAILS GET" with an image of Ninetails. A screencap of the aforementioned post:

Aftermath: Post Number Truncating

This GET served as the landmark that saw the introduction of post number truncation; this action was likely to have been planned to take place at the 200M GET. Post number truncating is where the last three numbers of the post number are blocked by X's.

This introduction serves as an initiative to reduce the number of "post ending in YYY" type posts and "doubles"/"triples" games on 4chan and to bring the focus of the website back to being an image board.

The message from 4chan admins:

“jesus that was fucking terrible. post number truncating goes into effect now.”
