On August 25th, 2016, YouTuber^[1] @LizzyWurst uploaded a video titled "Worlds Hottest Pepper Challenge," in which she eats a pepper with a friend to capture their reactions. The video garnered over 21 million views and 272,000 likes in seven years. (shown below)

One of the earliest posts found using @LizzyWurst's video as a meme template was posted on February 16th, 2019, by YouTube^[2] user @Prescription. The video (shown below) shows the two women desperately agonizing after eating the pepper, but, in this case, the content has a different title "Not saying the N word for an ENTIRE minute – challenge," which uses their reaction as a comic source for the video. The post (shown below) amassed over 855,000 views and 44,000 likes in four years.

The meme remained popular on YouTube, IFunny and Reddit, moving to X around 2022. For instance, on June 17th, 2022, X page @allreactionvids posted a recaption YouTube title of the video that says "Not Saying Mother For An Entire Minute Challenge." The post^[3] (shown below) amassed roughly 2,000 likes and 575 retweets in a year.
