Off Ada X (English: Off There's X) is a phrasal template often used to caption edited variations of a photograph featuring a child wearing a peci and sarung while looking directly into the camera while seated inside a Mosque. The images are typically used as a reaction in contexts where someone goes off the internet after a distasteful encounter within an internet community.

Origin

While the origin of the catchphrase is unknown, the earliest available of the image was posted by Facebook user named Ayanokoji Naoto on December 9th, 2017 with no caption on it[1]. The post received more than 400 reacts and 400 comments over the next few years (shown below).

Spread

The image remained relatively unknown until three years after it was uploaded. On January 31st, 2020, Facebook user Akidnarr posted the image along with a caption that referenced a TOEFL listening speaker copypasta [2].

On February 4th, 2020, Facebook user named Alfi Fernanda posted an edited version of the image with the child's eyes colored red, implying he had not slept for a long time, paired with the caption "Gw belum off dari kemaren" (English: I didn't off(line) since yesterday) on the Facebook group named "Perkumpulan Orang Santai Total"[3]. The post received more than 2.900 reacts (shown below).

On February 5th, 2020, Facebook user named Unkl Mitball uploaded a video in which the image, captioned with "Off dulu," slowly disappears while the PlayStation 1 system start sound can be heard in the background.
