Peanut Butter Kitchen Prank or Covering My Parents Kitchen In Peanut Butter is a viral video in which a TikToker covers his parents' kitchen in peanut butter, showing before and after footage of the kitchen. The video was uploaded to TikTok in February 2023 and went viral that month, inspiring reactions and gaining viral spread on sites including Twitter, as well as significant media coverage.
Origin
On February 24th, 2023, TikToker[1] @corbinnmillet posted a video showing his parents' kitchen, captioned, "Covering my parents' kitchen in peanut butter." The video then cuts to footage of the kitchen covered in peanut butter. The video gained over 39.7 million views in five days (shown below, left). On February 25th, the TikToker[2] posted a follow-up video showing his dad's reaction to the prank, rushing up the stairs toward him while yelling about how they're going to get ants, garnering over 15 million views in four days (shown below, right).

On February 25th, 2023, two screenshots of the video were posted by Twitter[3] user @henclairist, writing, "fucking hate white people," garnering over 213,000 likes in four days (shown below, left). On February 26th, Twitter[4] user @PRINCESSGENES1S retweeted a photo of a shirtless man whose body they believe looks like it's covered in peanut butter, writing, "The kitchen covered in peanut butter," garnering over 100,000 likes in three days (shown below, right). That same day, the @barstoolsports TikTok[5] page reuploaded the video, gaining over 16 million views in three days.
On February 27th, TikToker[6] @corbinnmillet posted a sequel video where he covers his parents' bathroom in peanut butter, garnering over 2.9 million views in two days (shown below, left). On February 28th, TikToker[7] @surthycooks posted a stitch to the video where she makes a peanut butter cake, garnering over 300,000 views in a day (shown below, right). That day, the New York Post[8] reported on the video.
