Blank Banshee is the stage name of Patrick Driscoll, a Canadian musician and artist. He came to prominence within the vaporwave scene in the early 2010s with the release of his first studio album and is regarded as a pioneer in the vaporwave subgenre "vaportrap," which fuses elements of vaporwave with elements of trap music.

History

Prior to Blank Banshee, Driscoll was originally part of the now defunct electronic band Shinjuku Mad, alongside later collaborator Curtis Ferguson, also known as Cormorant. Together, the group released two albums in the late 2000s before disbanding.

In 2012, Driscoll, as Blank Banshee, released his debut studio album Blank Banshee 0 which combined vaporwave aesthetic with elements of trap music. The album would later be followed up with Blank Banshee 1 on October 20th, 2013. Accompanying the album would be six music videos released as part of a Paradise Disc zip file released for download.

In 2016, Driscoll released his third studio album MEGA after a lengthy e-mail ARG and teaser tracks posted to his site. The album marked a return after a 3 year long hiatus for new music.

Apart from music, Driscoll also maintains other artistic projects such as 4514'43.2N 6605'11.0W, a Facebook page where a photo of the same location is posted every day at 9am, and a digital art and photography Tumblr blog.

On Facebook, Blank Banshee's official Facebook page has gained over 48,000 likes since its creation on May 17th, 2012. On Twitter, he has accumulated over 12,000 followers since creating his account in May 2012.

"Teen Pregnancy" is a song from Blank Banshee's album Blank Banshee 0. The song would later gain prominence in large part due to the Simpsonwave remix trend, specifically Lucien Hughes' viral video "ＳＵＮＤＡＹ ＳＣＨＯＯＬ" which would gain over 14 million views since uploading.
