Buff Correll, real name Correll Bufford, is an American YouTuber best known for his videos wherein he dances and sings along to songs. He has posted hundreds of videos like this, leading to media coverage an appearance on Tosh.0.
History
Correll posted his first video to YouTube on April 12th, 2008 under the name correll11 (shown below, left). There he posted bodybuilding videos, though few gained over 1,000 views. He began seeing more views following the launch of his new channel, BuffCorrell, which launched September 7th, 2011.[2] The earliest extant video on the channel shows him dancing to and "covering" Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," gaining over 80,000 views (shown below, right).
His following extant video, showing him dancing to "Drunk In Love" by Beyoncé, proved one of his most popular videos, gaining over a million views (shown below, left). In March of 2014, Complex published a piece on his videos.[1] In 2019, he began seeing his videos consistently gain hundreds of thousands of views as he expanded from covering hip-hop and r&b songs to indie rock songs. His channel's second most popular video with over 600,000 views was posted March 25th, 2019 and features him dancing to Tame Impala's "The Less I Know the Better" (shown below, right). As of April 30th, 2019, Buff Correll has over 95,000 subscribers.[1] His videos are often posted to Reddit in subreddits relevant to the song he's covering.[3][4][5]
Tosh.0 Appearance
On March 28th, 2017, BuffCorrell appeared on Tosh.0 where he "debuted" a new music video with help from host Daniel Tosh (shown below).
