About
Juju do Pix, real name Juju Oliveira, is a Brazilian trans woman and influencer known for a failed aesthetic procedure on her face and being called "Fofão", a fictional Brazilian character with big cheeks, on social media. However, she was accused of spending the donation money on futile things and became an internet meme, especially among LGBTQ+ social media users in Brazil.
History
Juju Oliveira Failed Aesthetic Procedure
In 2017, the Brazilian Juju de Oliveira[1] decided to do an aesthetic procedure that inserted industrial mineral oils in her face. The result was purportedly so good[2] that she decided to go back and apply it again. Soon after, terrible consequences arrived that gave her facial deformities, which got worse with the passage of time (before and after seen below).
In the following years, Oliveira would go on to suffer a notable amount of online hate and bullying for her deformed cheeks and face. In August 2020, she then decided to launch a crowdfunding fundraiser to get rid of the industrial silicone in her face, with several websites[3] sharing the news at the time. A few months later, however, and some of the people that donated money began accusing her of spending the donation money to buy a motorcycle[3] and other things unrelated to her ailment.
Juju do Pix Nickname
After allegedly spending the donations on things unrelated to her medical procedure, Oliveira kept using her social media to ask for money from her followers, who nicknamed her Juju do "Pix"[4] in January 2022 after a well-known instant payment platform created and managed by the monetary authority of Brazil. On February 5th, 2022, Twitter user @juju_dopix[5] shared a video of Juju complaining via Instagram stories about people who donate her money below 10 BRL ($2 USD), asking for higher donations. The video garnered 677,000 views and 6,742 likes in one year as many criticized it (seen below).
