About
Li Ziqi is a Chinese YouTuber known for her calming food and crafting videos in which she creates furniture, clothes and dishes from scratch. Ziqi began posting videos to YouTube in 2017 after moving back to the countryside to help out her grandmother.
Online History
On August 21st, 2017, Li Ziqi joined YouTube and three days later uploaded a video in which she makes a dress and uses grape skins as a dye (shown below). The video garnered over 10.4 million views and 254,000 likes in two years.
On September 24th, 2018, Li Ziqi uploaded a video in which she built a furniture set out of bamboo she harvested herself (shown below, left). The video accumulated over 30.1 million views and 782,000 likes in a year. On January 31st, 2019 she uploaded her most popular video titled "Peanut and melon seeds, dried meat, dried fruit, snowflake cake β snacks for Spring Festival" (shown below, right). The video gained over 39.3 million views and 594,000 likes in 10 months.
Reputation
As of November 2019, Li Ziqi's YouTube account has amassed over 7.28 million subscribers.[3] She also have over 9,000 followers on Twitter[4] and 2.8 million followers on Facebook.[5] Many viewers enjoy Li Ziqi's videos due to their calming affect. On November 23rd, Twitter user @foreheadvernons[6] called Li Ziqi "the bob ross of our generation" (shown below, left). Three days later Twitter user @ssakgae[7] posted an image of Squidward smiling and drinking tea with the caption "watching some liziqi" (shown below, right).
Personal Life
Li Ziqi was born on July 6th, 1990 in Pingwu, Mianyang, Sichuan, China and lives there today with her grandmother.[1][2] On September 12th, 2019, Goldthread interviewed Ziqi and posted the interview to YouTube (shown below). The video gained over two million views. During the interview Ziqi revealed that she grew up poor and with her grandparents and shortly moved to the city to work as a DJ, waitress and other positions until her grandfather died and she decided to move back to her hometown.
