About
Minato Aqua is a VTuber and streamer who has been part of the Hololive agency since her debut in 2018. After enjoying a six-year career in livestreaming, Aqua had her graduation stream in late August 2024, meaning she officially retired from streaming as a character in the Hololive universe.
Career
Minato Aqua's debut stream was uploaded to YouTube on August 8th, 2018. In the short introductory stream, which was uploaded via the official Aqua[1] YouTube channel, Aqua goes over some of their interests and hobbies and includes a short clip of her gameplay prowess, finishing with a small musical number.
This debut stream received over 454,000 views and helped Aqua to reach over 2.2 million subscribers in six years (shown below).
After starting on YouTube in 2018, Aqua continued to do streams of her gameplay, with occasional singing. This culminated in Aqua being able to host her first solo concert to celebrate her second anniversary on August 21st, 2020.
A snippet of the concert was reuploaded to YouTube on August 27th, 2020, by the YouTube channel Ly Loli,[2] which featured the song "Fuwa Fuwa Time" (shown below).
A few months later, Aqua released her second original song, called "For The Win," which was dedicated to her fellow gamers. The song, done as a cheering track for the League of Legends World Championships in 2020, features various graphics showing Aqua in the same design as different LoL champions, such as Ahri.
The song, which was uploaded on October 26th, 2020 to the official Aqua[3] channel, received over 3.6 million views in four years (shown below).
Graduation
On August 28th, 2024, Minato Aqua hosted their graduation from the Hololive company. This is done when a VTuber is separating from the company and is seen as a way of having them graciously exit the company and put their character to rest within the Hololive universe.
The graduation livestream was hosted on the official Aqua[4] channel, where it quickly went viral and received over 950,000 active live followers and the VOD itself received over 6 million views within three days (shown below).
