Minhyuk (Monsta X)

Origin

Lee Minhyuk, going by the stage name Minhyuk, is a sub-vocalist and visual from K-pop group Monsta X. He was first introduced to the public on No Mercy, on December 10, 2014, a show made to form Monsta X. He debuted with the group on May 14, 2015, with the song Trespass. Through the years, Minhyuk has become a fan favorite with his cheerful persona, variety skills, and unique voice, often being referred to as the adhesive of the band.

Theories

Fans of Minhyuk, nicknamed Minhyuknators, have discovered a set of odd characteristics Minhyuk has exhibited over the years. The debate on whether he is actually human or an undetected cryptid reigns among Minhyuknators:

Here he's flying with no external help, highly unusual for a human to do. Even the xenophobic, homophobic, racist Doni only known for Weekly Idol seen in the bottom left corner is in shock over this.

Many fans have banded together in protest of Minhyuk's strange preferences, such as hating cucumbers and cats. Hating Monsta X's songs Tropical Night, Be Quiet and Rollercoaster, black and red hair on himself are other instances of him acting rather peculiar. It is important to note that Lee Minhyuk has never once apologized for these crimes, his silence has been deafening.

Problems with Identity

Not knowing whether or not he exists because of his secret cryptid attributes, Minhyuk has gone through some identity crises. For instance, Minhyuk has confirmed that he thinks he's a whale when questioned by his fellow member Jooheon in Monsta X's 300 Days celebration live broadcast on Vlive. In the same broadcast, he also tries to eat a pen's cap. Another example is him associating himself with dogs the interview The Qmentary: MONSTA X – HERO in which Minhyuk repeatedly barks starting from 3:36, emulating a Dobermann.

A theory made by Minhyuk himself is that he's deceased, but somehow continues to function similar to a normal human being. This can be seen as yet another proof of his cryptid identity. In Monsta X's reality show X-Ray, Minhyuk shares this information with Minhyuknators.
