Online History

Jubilee Debate On Abortion With Charlie Kirk

On September 8th, 2024, Naima Troutt appeared on an episode of the YouTube[1] series Surrounded, run on the Jubilee channel, garnering over 19 million views in just under two months. The show has a right-wing commentator or figure, in this case, Charlie Kirk, sitting at a desk in the middle of a group of people with opposing views. The first person to run to the desk earns the opportunity to debate the figure. If the other possible debaters raise enough red flags during the debate, the person is switched out.

In the episode, Troutt chooses to debate Kirk on abortion. She asks him how long a fetus is viable and cites that 93 percent of abortions happen "well before" a fetus is viable. Kirk pushes back, asking why a six-week "baby," referring to a fetus, is of "less moral worth" than a more developed fetus. Kirk asks her what "fetus" means in Latin and he tells her it means "little human being" then smiles, repulsing Troutt, who says, "Your smile is very creepy." This clip went on to inspire an increase in memes about Charlie Kirk's smile.

Troutt argues that a fetus is considered a parasite until it's deemed viable. Kirk says, "Are you saying a baby is a disease or a tumor?" Troutt argues those are not the same things as parasites, defining a parasite as something that can't live outside its host. Kirk asks if "old people with Alzheimer's and dementia" are parasites, by her definition. She says they are not, they're humans on the verge of death.

Kirk then asks if his four-month-old child is a parasite because it can't live without milk, changing, etc. Troutt insists the baby is not a parasite because it can breathe and drink on its own. Kirk asks why this appoints to moral viability and she says it equates to scientific viability because a non-viable fetus is not technically alive, while the mother is alive.

Refusal Of $20,000 Offer To Debate Nick Fuentes

On October 13th, 2024, the X[3] account @AFpost reported that Adin Ross offered Troutt $20,000 to debate Nick Fuentes, but that she dropped out for not wanting to "platform hate." On October 15th, she posted a video to her TikTok[4] account, @hair.soup, explaining her reasoning.

In the video, Troutt explains that if she debates Fuentes, who is a white supremacist, then she is essentially suggesting that white supremacy is a perspective worth considering, which she does not believe to be the case. She says, "How am I suppose to have a debate with someone who openly idolizes Adolf Hitler?" She then gives another reason, which is that Fuentes' fans got "really excited" about the idea of the debate. She calls them a "hate group," says they need "something or someone to hate," and that she refuses to provide entertainment for a "bunch of Nazis" for $20,000.

Her third reason is that she finds it funny that Adin Ross tried to pay a girl $20,000 to talk to him and she still said no. The video gained over 3.4 million views in two weeks.

On October 17th, the @AdinReports X[5] page posted a clip of Ross' response. In the video, he says that she looks like she needs the money and suggests the hype around her will die. He calls her his "little content slut for the day" and says he thinks it's a win-win, claiming "after Trump or Kamala wins, nobody is going to give a fuck about these people."

He then criticizes the look of her room, again suggesting she looks poor and needs the money. Lastly, he compares her to an alien and says, "You're not even a girl to me," calling her an animal and criticizing her visible armpit hair in a photo. The post gained over 25,000 likes in a week.

Jubilee Debate On Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) With Ben Shapiro

On October 24th, 2024, Troutt appeared on another episode of the Jubilee YouTube[2] series Surrounded, this time debating Ben Shapiro on DEI, garnering over 4.4 million views in a day. The episode has Shapiro debate Kamala Harris voters on a variety of topics, including her attempt to "put DEI at the center of her policies."

In the video, Troutt cites that one in five Americans are currently Hispanic and asks if Shapiro thinks legislators should be representative of the overall population. Shapiro says he "doesn't see a way" you can have a representative legislature with 435 members of Congress in a nation of millions, saying you can "divvy that up however you want." He asks how you decide what is the representative group.

Troutt argues it doesn't have to be systematic, but says there is an issue with representation, mentioning that there's never been a female president. Shapiro says, "We've never had a Jewish president" and she retorts, "We've had a white male president." Shapiro argues that whether Jews are white or not is up for debate. Troutt insists Jews are white. Shapiro concedes that it depends on who you ask and that it's a "pretty recent development." Troutt says being Jewish is a religion and asks if Shapiro thinks he's a white man. Shapiro says it "depends on the context in which you're discussing it."

Troutt continues to push him to get an answer on whether or not he believes he's white. Shapiro insists it depends on who you ask, saying he's seen Jews grouped with whites and not grouped with whites. Shapiro moves on to summarize what he sees as her point. He asks if Barack Obama was representative of Black females because he's a male. Troutt says that he was, but her point remains.

Shapiro says, "You should treat people as individuals." Troutt says, "If you don't even want Kamala Harris to attempt to create DEI initiatives in office, then there isn't even going to be a conversation about it." Shapiro claims there shouldn't be a conversation about it, saying that as long as an individual supports his ideas, he doesn't care what race or sexuality they are. Troutt agrees with the point to an extent but says there is a "lack of empathy" in office, saying we need to be able to empathize with the people who are living in America, saying it's easier to be empathetic towards people whose experiences you can understand based on identity.

Progressives hold two definitions of "whiteness", one is a race, the other a "construct of oppression", usually framed as a great evil that embodies all progressivism postures itself to oppose. Progressives will actively flit between the two within a discussion without clarifying which they mean and without consideration for the fact that everyone not balls deep in their movement only understands the racial definition. Whenever pressed on the matter, they will quickly orbit to whichever definition is more convenient. That is how Jews are both white and not. That is how Jews are white but Jesus was "of color".

Don't know why this is the article trending due to the debate with Shapiro and not the debate itself. Genuinely don't care about her, but the debate with Shapiro was hilarious, a trans man (female who transitioned to male) was one of debaters and he absolutely roasted Shapiro alive. He managed to get Shapiro to address him as male before revealing he was born female, which absolutely shook Shapiro since the trans dude was legitimately more masculine then him, lol
