Naomi Seibt is a German YouTuber and right-wing self-described "Climate Realism" activist that was hired by conservative think tank The Heartland Institute to produce videos about climate change. The YouTuber has been compared to environmental activist Greta Thunberg for her age/appearance and has been labeled as the anti-Greta by various media outlets.

Online History

On May 24th, 2019, Naomi Seibt uploaded her first video to YouTube titled "Manchmal Schweige Ich – Naomi Seibt" which features Seibt reading her poem about political courage. The video gained over 44,100 views and 5,300 likes in nine months. She was then hired by the Heartland Institute in late 2019. On December 20th, 2019, The Heartland Institute uploaded the video "Naomi Seibt vs. Greta Thunberg: Whom Should We Trust?" (shown below, right). The video accumulated over 169,00 views and 3,200 likes in two months.

On February 6th, 2020, following media coverage painting her a conservative "puppet," she uploaded the video "Message to the Media – HOW DARE YOU – subtitles" (shown below, left). The video garnered over 51,200 views and 4,200 likes in 21 days. On February 16th, Seibt uploaded the video "ANTI-GRETA or PRO HUMAN? (German + English)" of a speech she gave on the subject of "climate realism" (shown below, right). The video received over 97,500 views and 8,700 likes in 11 days.

Reputation

Seibt has gained over 58,900 subscribers on YouTube[8] in nine months and 10,900 followers on Twitter[2] in a month. She has been labeled "Anti-Greta" by various news outlets but does not approve of the title.[5][6] On February 6th, Seibt[1] tweeted a thank you message for those who have supported her through a "media tornado" (shown below).

Personal Life

Seibt grew up in Münster, Germany and currently lives there with her mother and sister.[7] She is not interested in a political career.[7] In December 2019, Seibt gave a lecture at the "Climate Reality Forum" in Madrid and in 2020, she was invited to speak before the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in the United States.[4][5]
