PES is the nickname of American director and animator Adam Pesapane, who is best known for his short stop motion animated films like "Western Spaghetti" and "Fresh Guacamole."

History

In 2002, PES released his first animated short film "Roof Sex," in which two chairs engage in simulated sex acts on top of a roof (shown below, left).[1][2] That year, the short won the Annecy International Animated Film Festival's "Best First Film" award. In 2004, PES released the stop motion short film "KaBoom!", featuring various toys and other objects engaging in battle (shown below, right).

In 2006, PES recreated death scenes from classic arcade games with various food products in a short film titled "Game Over" (shown below, left). On December 5th, 2007, the PESfilm YouTube channel was launched, which gained over 78 million video views and 488,000 subscribers over the next eight years. On July 5th, 2008, PES released the film "Western Spaghetti," in which various household items are used to cook a spaghetti dish (shown below, right). Within seven years, the video gathered more than 18.8 million views and 16,500 comments. On November 3rd, Time Magazine[5] ranked "Western Spaghetti" as #2 in their "Top 10 Viral Videos" list.

In December 2010, Showtime broadcast the PES short film "The Deep" in Episode 1 of the television series Short Stories (shown below, left). In March 2012, PES released the short film "Fresh Guacamole," featuring a man making a bowl of guacamole dip out of various items, including a hand grenade, dice, baseball and a pin cushion (shown below, right). On March 7th, 2013, the film was uploaded to the PESfilm YouTube channel, where it accumulated upwards of 9.3 million views and 4,800 comments over the next two years.

As of January 2015, PES has over 27,000 likes on Facebook,[6] 4,200 followers on Twitter[7] and 2,200 followers on Instagram.[8]
