About
Pilleater is an Instagram meme page that gained traction online in late March and April 2025 for making a series of videos about a character named "Safe Sleazy," his Asian girlfriend, and his extended universe of hipster Bushwick friends. Safe Sleazy is often represented using an image of YouTuber Kurtis Conner, and the videos typically take the form of image slideshows with an AI voiceover. Pilleaters' videos sometimes address scenes and subcultures outside of Bushwick and cover metropolitan areas like Philadelphia and California. In April 2025, several internet users began discussing the identity and ideologies of the man behind the Pilleaters account, Joe Nally. According to a now-deleted post on /r/RedScarePod, and numerous references on /r/Hapas, Nally is a long-time vocal advocate for White Male Asian Female relationships.
Origin
Pilleaters posted his first Instagram Reel[1] about "Safe Sleazy" on March 28th, 2025. The video showed a montage of white men with mullets and tattoos, many of whom resembled the iDubbbz Conner Genre of Man archetype. The name "Safe Sleazy" may have been inspired by the Safe Edgy meme. A transcript of the voiceover is shown below;
Have you ever seen this type of white guy? This is "Safe Sleazy." It's a subculture of white guys that live in Bushwick, Brooklyn and they all have Asian girlfriends. They are either a DJ or a podcaster.
Spread
Pilleater continued to post videos about "Safe Sleazy" and his group of Bushwick friends and associates. An April 2nd, 2025 Instagram Reel[2] about Safe Sleazy gathered over 400,000 views and 26,000 likes in two weeks.
Pilleater continued to flesh out the Safe Sleazy archetype, posting a Reel[3] about him cheating on his Asian girlfriend Luna with another Asian girl on April 5th, gathering over 1,000 likes in ten days.
Pilleater eventually expanded the scope of his work to discuss archetypes and subcultures in other cities, as seen in an April 10th, 2025 Reel[4] about "Rockabily Rachel," which gathered over 400,000 views and 12,000 likes in a week.
WMAF / Asian-Aryanism Allegations
Pilleater allegedly has an internet history advocating for what he calls "Asian-Aryanism." On November 6th, 2016, a YouTube[5] account by the name "⚔️ pilleater ⚔️" posted a short, minute-long video proposing a WMAF ethnostate. The video gathered over 18,000 views in eight years.
On April 14th, 2025, Redditor[6][7] /u/1038372910191028382 made a post to the subreddit /r/RedScarePod discussing Pilleater's online history of advocating for White Male Asian Female relationships. The post recounted Pilleater's history of posting to the mixed-race Asian subreddit /r/Hapas, and eventually being exposed for being fully white. The post also recounted Pilleater's blogs and published books, including a book titled, Almost Eyes, Baby Face, and a blog titled, "mineomayafanclub," which the Redditor describes as being filled with "insane babbling about [his] Asian-Aryanism fantasy."
On April 16th, Instagram[8] page Tablet Muncher posted a video mimicking Pilleater's video style and sharing photos, supposedly of him, calling him "Japanophile Joe," and gathering over 300 likes in a day.
