About

Resilient Jenkins or Jenkins Resilience Crew is a TikToker and a mother of at least four children known for her family vlogging content. Jenkins began posting content in 2021 and garnered an increase in interest in late 2024 for filming vlog-style videos about being a "family of six going on seven" while documenting their struggles with money and living in a small one-bedroom home. Many online took this to mean that she had six children going on seven, discounting that "family of six" includes Jenkins and her husband, Drew. That month, some videos of the family went viral on X / Twitter and TikTok and became the subject of discussions, including debates on whether or not the living conditions of the family were appropriate.

Online History

TikToker[1] @jenkinsresiliencecrew posted her first video, a cooking video, on July 19th, 2021. Throughout the 2020s, the TikToker used the account to document her family life, living in a single-bedroom apartment with seven children, occasionally gaining significant views on her videos.

In October 2024, the @jenkinsresiliencecrew saw a significant increase in attention and viewership as users began to criticize their lifestyle and wonder if the living conditions of the children were appropriate. For example, on October 19th, 2024, she posted a video to TikTok[2] about how her husband Drew wakes up early every morning to figure out how to make their life better, garnering over 500,000 views and 1,800 comments in 10 days.

@jenkinsresiliencecrew This ones for the supportive hard working power couples. Together we make our dreams our reality. I know he wont see this because he doesn’t do tik tok like that but my hope is it touches some hearts and brings appreciation to the person you have by your side. And if your rocking this life solo, you got this, your strong your capable and the universe knows what you can handle. 💛 #powercouple #thisonesforyou #supportsmallbusiness #supporteachother #myhusband #provider ♬ Whats a soulmate – csbyeol

On October 25th, the TikToker[3] posted a video in which the family is seen transforming the dining room into a shared bedroom for the children, explaining how the house only has one bedroom, garnering over 9 million views in four days.

@jenkinsresiliencecrew You do what you Gotta do in small space living, especially when you have a larger family. #smallspaceliving #blendedfamily #familyof6 #familyof7 #nojudgement #pushing #manifesting #bedroommakeover #cleanup ♬ original sound – Resilient Jenkins 🔹🔷🔹

On October 26th, 2024, X[4] user @MrsJellySantos reposted the video about the Jenkins family converting their dining room into a shared bedroom, writing, "People on tik tok judging this mom who is pregnant with her 7th child and lives in a one bedroom apartment," garnering over 40 million views, 6,500 reposts and 10,000 likes in three days.

The video was largely criticized on the platform. For example, on October 27th, X[5] user @shes_rADIAnt quote-reposted the video, writing, "This is so careless and irresponsible. Stop making babies knowing you living like this," garnering over 84,000 likes in two days. Notably, earlier in October, Jenkins posted a video on TikTok[6] claiming she was "not ready to stop having babies" if they could "flip" their financial situation.

On the same day, X[7] user @danishacarterr posted, "The selfishness adults showcase genuinely makes me sick to my stomach. you can’t even afford BEDS for your six kids, and you’re pregnant with a seventh," garnering over 220,000 likes in two days.

On October 28th, 2024, X[8] user @gigibadazz posted, "If a black woman posted this CPS would’ve been there yesterday," garnering over 120,000 likes in a day.

The increase in virality of the parents' TikTok page inspired critical comments on their future uploads. For example, on October 27th, the TikToker[9] posted a video of her husband and children playing video games in the parents' bedroom on a PS5 console, inspiring comments criticizing them for buying a PlayStation rather than investing that money into better living conditions for their children.

@jenkinsresiliencecrew This is one the first evenings Drew has been home before 9:30pm in quite some time. After about day 130 we both stopped counting and said thats it we working the rest of our days 😂 😂 the kids are quickly becoming gamers they especially love the horror based games. They dont get to see dad play to often because it isnt even often he gets the time too. But they always ask when hes on the game if they can watch and hang out. Yall cant tell me you don’t remember your parents room being the safe zone and the reset spot as a child. Thats a night for us we will see you guys in the morning #blendedfamily #smallspaceliving #familytime #gamertiktok #lovingfamily #dadsoftiktok #familyof6 ♬ Special Halloween – Pasrah Instrumental

On October 28th, 2024, TikToker[10] @faithandbishop2 posted a video defending Resilient Jenkins and pointing out that many critics' math is wrong, explaining how "family of six going on seven" means the two parents plus four children going on five, not "six children going on seven children." He also suggests that people either "help or hush" regarding their living status. The video gained over 200,000 views in a day.

I agree but also "Poor people just shouldn't have kids." is not a particularly good looking argument. Because they're going to be poor regardless of the amount of children they have, there should be systems in place to alleviate the burden.

While I agree this is like, the family WANTS alot of kids and actively look FORWARD to making it.

You've got like 20-30 years to make kids, don't rush it.
