Pickle Surprise and Strawberry Shortcut were two films made in 1989 by the late Tom Rubnitz. The films featured drag queen actors such as RuPaul, Sister Dimension, and The Lady Bunny.

Origin

The films were made in 1989, but weren't seen online until much later. The films found their way onto YouTube in mid 2006 and early 2007 by mrpussypants^[1][2], but the original videos and YouTube account have long since been deleted.

Pickle Surprise

Pickle Surprise was reuploaded to YouTube by zombiemouse on June 8, 2007 (shown below, left). A much higher quality version was uploaded to YouTube by SpaceHunterM⚧ on October 25, 2018, using the original video from VDB^[3] (shown below, right).

Strawberry Shortcut

Strawberry Shortcut was reuploaded to YouTube by TheDraug on December 7, 2008 (shown below, left). A much higher quality version was uploaded to YouTube by SpaceHunterM⚧ on November 20, 2018, using the original video from VDB^[4] (shown below, right).

Spread

Pickle Surprise inspired several works on YTMND.^[5] One YTMND (shown below) was reposted to YouTube by RummyProductions on November 17th, 2007, where it received over 78,000 views in over fifteen years.

On May 10, 2009, a fan remake of Pickle Surprise was posted to YouTube by katey1992, but was later unlisted, and even later made private. Despite being unlisted, the video received over 31,000 views.^[6]

On November 4, 2009, Barry Morse posted a fan tribute to the films to YouTube. The video, titled Ookie Cookie, has received over 270,000 views until its deletion from YouTube in early 2021.^[7] The video was reuploaded to YouTube by Barry Morse on November 2nd, 2021 (shown below).^[8]
