Pretty Boy Swag is a song by American rapper Soulja Boy, that has been remixed and used in TikTok parodies which feature transforming into objects or other people.
Origin
On June 8th, 2010, "Pretty Boy Swag"[1] was released as the first single from Soulja Boy's third studio album The DeAndre Way . On June 24th, the music video was uploaded to YouTube (shown below). The video gained over 43,184,000 views and 302,000 likes in nine years.
On July 11th, 2016, Austin Marc uploaded a remix entitled"pretty boi" to the song to SoundCloud. On July 14th, 2017, YouTuber Wolf_Moon[2] uploaded the remix entitled "Austin Marc – Pretty boi" to YouTube (shown below). The video gained over 744,000 views and 33,000 likes in two years.

The exact origin of the remix used on TikTok is unknown. On November 29th, 2018 YouTuber OhFortery[3] uploaded a "Pretty Boy Swag" TikTok remix featuring a boy transforming into a stuffed bear (shown below, left). The video has gained over 8,000 views and 100 likes in three months. On November 30th, 2018, YouTuber PetShop Gaming[4] uploaded a TikTok video of a man turning into a hand cart (shown below, right). The video gained over 1,000 views and 28 likes in two months.
On December 2nd, 2018, The first "TikTok Pretty Boy Swag Meme Compilation" was uploaded to YouTube (shown below). The video gained 430,021 likes and 2,640,195 views within a two months.
On December 5th, 2018, another compilation was uploaded to YouTube (shown below, left). Within one month, the video gained over one million views and 1,000 comments. On December 11th, 2018, YouTuber Trendy reuploaded a video of TikTok user @mopjuice, in which he records himself transforming into a green plant (shown below, right). Within one month, the video gained over 2,000 views.
On December 19th, 2018, PewDiePie reacted to the trend in his video "You Laugh You Lose: everything that you have in life VERYHARD YLYL #0047"(shown below). The video has gained 10,519,866 views and
one million likes in a month.
