Raise Your Hand If You Save Scum the S**T Outta This Game General Discussion - [NO SPOILERS] spoiler Not for choices or anything like that but sometimes encounters just go so horrifyingly bad that it's not even worth finishing them. lol For someone who does NOT play DnD and never has, this game is actually pretty hard. But very very fun. EDIT: H--------, front page. Thanks everyone haha Did NOT expect for this post to do so well. I had just gotten out of a crappy combat encounter and just wanted to be like "Hey, who else reloads a save after horrible ambushes that are clear losses?" Apparently a lot of you :) Also just for the sake of clarification............it is NOT a bad thing at all and I'm not looking for justification for it nor do I chastise anyone who plays things more hardcore. This is just a fun question I was posing. Take care everyone and enjoy your time in BG3!! EDIT 2: Honestly surprised by the small amount of analysis on what save scumming actually is and what it refers to in some of the comments. I've always just taken it to mean that you reloaded something. I don't think it needs to refer to anything specific beyond that for the simple reason that players will decide for themselves how and when to reload a save.

Controversial Opinion: Save Scumming is Good and Everyone Should do it. Warhammer III EDIT: this title is designed as a retort to the phrase "you shouldn't save scum in a strategy game." Save scumming is another tool in the toolkit of learning strategy. Nobody should feel compelled to continue playing after a critical error has been made, nor should you feel the need to start over 100 turns in. In my opinion, and I repeat that this is my opinion, you should save before any gamble you make, every battle that the autoresolve says won't be an absolutely walk in the park, and before every war you declare on others so that you can learn from your mistakes and make the ideal decisions in future campaigns. Take a page from Tzeentch's book and explore all possible outcomes. And anyone that judges you for save scumming clearly doesn't care about your enjoyment of the game, only their superiority.
