About
The Scarlet Police on Ghetto Patrol 24PM Dance, also known by the hashtag "I'll Show You That My Footwork" (Japanese: #あたいの足技みさらせやー, Atai No Ashi Waza Misarase Yā), refers to a series of videos on TikTok in which people dance or show their foot skills with the song "Scarlet Police on Ghetto Patrol 24PM" (スカーレット警察のゲットーパトロール24時), a Touhou Project arrangement by IOSYS. In early 2022, it became popular among Japanese TikTok users.
Origin
On May 10th, 2015, IOSYS included the song "Scarlet Police on Ghetto Patrol 24PM" on the album, "Gensokyo Dempa Expo"[1], released at a Touhou Project-only convention, Reitaisai 12. They also published an animated music video for the song on YouTube on the 7th (Shown below). The phrase "I'll Show You That My Footwork" appeared at 0:20 in this video as Cirno's remark. This video had already earned nearly 5 million views before growing popular on TikTok.
In February of 2022, IOSYS member Malon (まろん) explained in his brief research[2] that TikTok users re-uploaded the YouTube video and used the song often in their posts beginning in early January of that year. Among those uploads, @o_kai0701's posts on the 17th showed that high school boys were dancing to their original choreography with the song (shown below).[3][4] The video had gained about 7.4 million views in total by October 2022.

Spread
Tiktok users were inspired by the dance and started mimicking it on the same day. Four days after, on the 21st, Japanese pop singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu[5] posted the dance with actor Ryo Kato[6] and led other celebrities and influencers to jump onto the dance trend. This video gained over 10 million views by October 2022.

ZUN, the creator of the Touhou Project series, and Miko, the singer of the song, also joined this dance trend (shown below). As of November 2022, has been featured in over 100 thousand TikTok videos.[7][8] The "footwork" remark by Cirno turned into the hashtag for the song and received over 600 million views.[9]

This dance trend on TikTok helped the 7-year-old doujin song surge in popularity throughout the first half of 2022 and pushed the hashtag to one of the candidates for the service's best trend award of that period.[10] The official music video above added more than 8 million views in 2022 alone. Popular rhythm games Groove Coaster[11] (June), Maimai[12] (September), and Taiko no Tatsujin[13] (October) released updates to include this song.
