About

Shawty Trifling She Must Be From Dirty Docks refers to a viral reaction video posted by TikToker @_inky in May 2021 in which he reacts to a woman making DIY punch in her toilet, saying she must be trifling and from Dirty Docks, a location in Fortnite. The videos inspired a series of reaction Duets similar to Inky's video That Looks Like the Battle Pass, in which users create a back-and-forth between themselves and Inky, often saying the woman looks like she's from a different Fortnite location and respectfully disagreeing after he says "she must be from Dirty Docks."

Origin

On April 22nd, 2021, TikToker[1] @bananalovesyoutoo posted a video captioned, "DIY punch trick…GREAT for parties!" in which she mixes massive amounts of ice, ice cream, and candy into a toilet and flushes to mix it all together, then offering it to her guests (shown below). The video gained over 10 million views in two months.

On May 23rd, TikToker[2] @_inky reacted to the video via TikTok Stitch. In the reactions, he holds a controller as if gaming (a staple of his reactions) and says, "shawty trifling, she must be from Dirty Docks" (shown below). The video gained over 2.8 million views in a month. Dirty Docks is a location in Fortnite, in this case, used to criticize @bananalovesyoutoo's toilet punch hack as dirty.

Spread

The video inspired a number of reactions over the course of the month in a similar style to Inky's previous viral Duet trend, "The Battle Pass." For example, on May 23rd, TikToker[3] @trentethekid Duetted the video mocking an interaction with Inky in which he says she must be from Dirty Docks first, followed by Inky, then the TikTokers saying "that's what I'm saying" and falling off his chair (shown below). The video gained over 1.3 million views in a month. He posted a version with the audio as an original sound to TikTok[4] later that day, garnering over 17.3 million views in the same span of time.

"Ha – TrenteTheKid" Original Sound

The original sound for @Trentethekid's May 23rd Duet gained over 17 million views, and inspired over 17,000 TikTokers[5][6] to use the sound in lip dub skits over the course of the month (popular examples shown below).

On June 24th, YouTuber ThatTokPlug posted a compilation of videos found under the sound (shown below).

"I Respectfully Disagree"

On June 1st, TikToker[7] @nomeatmashers posted Duet to the video following a similar format to the "Battle Pass" Duets in which he says, "Shawty trifling, she must be from Moisty Mire," another location in Fortnite. Inky then says she must be from Dirty Docks, to which @notmeatmashers responds, "I respectfully disagree," (shown below). The video gained over 1.1 million views in three weeks.

The Duet inspired numerous further Duets in reaction to it following the same joke structure, the reactor saying a Fortnite location, then the next and so on ending in Inky saying she's from Dirty Docks and everyone saying in unison "I respectfully disagree." For example, on June 5th, TikToker[8] @binreads Duetted the video, garnering over 978,000 views in three weeks (shown below, left), and had his video Duetted on June 10th by @imposter.dylan,[9] garnering over 1.9 million views in two weeks (shown below, middle). On June 19th, TikToker[10] @yoderlol Duetted to that, garnering over 468,000 views in six days (shown below, right).

That Looks Like The Battle Pass

That Looks Like The Battle Pass refers to a viral reaction video and series of TikTok Stitches started by @_inky in late February 2021 in which he says a bottle of cooking oil being poured into a pot looks like "the battle pass" (referring to the paid battle pass system employed in video games like Fortnite). The video went viral for its confusing nature and inspired a series of reaction Stitches where users agree that the video looks like the battle pass.
