About

X in Spore is a series of user created creatures in the 2008 video game, Spore. They are intentionally made to resemble characters and things from other forms of media such as video games, cartoons, or movies.

Spore

The video game, Spore, was released in September of 2008 to great hype, being designed by Will Wright, famous for his work on The Sims.

The premise of the game is to guide a user-created species' evolution through different phases, from a microscopic organism to a complex animal. Depending on the player's progress in the game, a creature's traits can be modified with complex traits (arms, legs, eyes, organs, etc.).

User Generated Content

Because of Spore Creature Creator's flexibility and the popularity of the game itself, players' creations of creatures resembling characters and objects from other media quickly appeared.
