SSFF is an internet hoax about an acronym that began to circulate on Twitter in November 2022. The word "SSFF" grew popular primarily due to people sharing memes about what the acronym could mean. The hoax began on November 16th, with various Twitter users asking what the meaning of the acronym is, and sharing memes about the hoax, with no resolution to the query. It is presently unknown where this hoax began, but it is most popular on Twitter.
Origin
The earliest known post about the acronym "SSFF" was made by Twitter[1] user @byomkesbakshy on November 16th, 2022, gathering seven likes. However, the post is the user asking about the meaning of the acronym (seen below).
Spread
Soon after the aforementioned post, Twitter users @ijoooolly[2] and @effucktivehumor[3] posted tweets about the acronym at the same time, gathering 90 likes (seen below, left) and 15 likes (seen below, right) respectively.
Also on November 16th, Twitter[4] user @firki07 posted a tweet that translates to, "not getting paid tweets these days, I will leave Twitter, didn't give for ssff, nor never settle." The tweet seems to imply that the buss around the acronym was a concocted hoax the account was left out of. The post gathered over 200 likes in a day (seen below).
