The AK47 ( officially Avtomat Kalashnikova ) was a rifle developed by Mikhail Kolishnikov.
History
The rifle and its varients have been used by the Soviet Union (Later Russian Federation and its former territories), Criminals, freedom fighters, dictators, drug lords, ect. The rifle got most of its fame form the Vietnam war, where Vietcong, North Vietnamese, and American GIs found that the rifle was one of the best ever made. Many Variants have been made form numeoruse countries, and as a result millions of clones of the rifle exist.
Notability
The weapon is notable becouse of its rugedness, cheapness to produce, the shear numbers produced, and how it has grown in the culture around the world. THe weapon has been seen on numeoruse coat of arms flags, the greatest examble being the flag of Mozambeke. On the internet, the AK is usualy seen as being used by a evil charator, used by freedom fighters such as Che Guivara, as a catch all term for any assault rifle.
