Bloxvox is the name of a device currently being promoted through a Kickstarter campaign that will smother your face in a soundproof muzzle so that one can have telephone conversations without disturbing others in a work environment. After CNET reported on the product, Twitter users reacted with jokes about the product's design, with many comparing it to the mask Bane wears in The Dark Knight Rises.

History

On May 20th, 2018, Greg Umhoefer launched a Kickstarter for the product.[1] As of May 23rd, 2018, it has raised $3,100 of its $25,000 goal with a July 20th end date.

The tweet prompted strong responses from Twitter users making fun of the product. Many of the tweets compared the Bloxvox to the mask Bane wears in The Dark Knight Rises. User @flashboy made such a joke, gaining over 250 retweets and 930 likes (shown below, left). A similar joke by @danhevia gained over 83 retweets and 320 likes (shown below, right).
