About
Castlevania (Japanese: 悪魔城ドラキュラ, Akumajō Dorakyura) is an action-adventure and horror game about a fictional clan of vampire hunters known as the Belmonts and their constant feuds with the vampire Dracula.
Origin
The original Castlevania game was developed and published by Konami on September 26, 1986 for the Nindendo Famicom's Family Computer Disk System, with ports shortly released thereafter to the Nintendo Entertainment System and MSX platforms. The game was lauded by critics upon release, and Konami released 2 follow-up sequels on the NES/Famicom as well as countless sequels for later consoles.
