About

Dinosaurs were a group of reptiles that lived millions of years ago during a time called the Mesozoic Era.

History

Dinosaurs first appeared around 230 million years ago during the Triassic Period. In the beginning, they were small and not very dominant, but over time, they evolved into many different forms. During the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, they became the most powerful animals on land. Some walked on two legs, others on four, and they could be either plant-eaters or meat-eaters. Dinosaurs lived on all continents and were incredibly diverse. Their reign ended about 66 million years ago when a giant asteroid hit Earth, causing a mass extinction.

Impact

The media has played a significant role in popularizing dinosaurs, particularly through films, television shows, and books. Examples like Jurassic Park, Walking with Dinosaurs, Google Dinosaur, and Barney which is considered the popularization of dinosaurs in media.

Online Presence

Websites like National Geographic, Smithsonian, and The Dinosaur Database provide in-depth information about various dinosaur species, fossil discoveries, and paleontological research. Social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok feature accounts and channels dedicated to dinosaur facts, news, and fan content. Online communities and forums like Reddit’s r/dinosaurs offer spaces for enthusiasts to share discoveries and discuss theories.

Unexpected Dinosaur Edits

Unexpected Dinosaur Edits or My Type, Bro's Sister, Dinosaurs is a series of bait-and-switch video edits in which a meme or video clip unrelated to dinosaurs is shown, followed by an abrupt transition to images of dinosaurs over nu-metal or hard rock music, typically Three Days Grace's song "Animal I Have Become." One of the most common setups begins with a meme showing the poster's supposed type compared to their "bro's mom," depicted as fitting the poster's type exactly, then the dinosaur transition.
