About
ENA is an animated YouTube series following the adventures of titular protagonist Ena created by Peruvian animator Joel Guerra. The series premiered in May 2020, with the first season consisting of three episodes.
History
On February 23rd, 2020, Peruvian 2D animator Joel Guerra (Joel G) tweeted[1] a GIF animation of a a blue-and-yellow character inspired by Girl before a Mirror by Pablo Picasso and the art of Romero Britto (shown below). The tweet received over 920 retweets and 6,400 likes in one year. On the same day, Guerra tweeted[2] an artwork of the character next to a moon-shaped character.

On May 26th, 2020, Guerra released[3] "Auction Day," the first episode of the ENA animated series (shown below). The episode introduced titular character Ena and her friend Moony. The video received over 2.2 million views on YouTube and 68,200 views on Twitter[4] in one year.
In the series, Ena's appearance changes depending on her emotional state, with the character voiced by three actors.[9]
On September 15th, 2020, and on February 15th, 2021, Guerra released[5][6] "Extinction Party" and "Temptation Stairway," the second and the third episodes in the series (shown below, left and right).
On February 19th, 2021, Guerra[7] wrote that he considered "Temptation Stairway" to be a season finale for the series, announcing that the series would continue with a change of format.
Reception
The series received very positive user reviews online. On January 5th, 2021, YouTube[8] user Charles J. Thomas uploaded a review of the series "Joel G's Bizarre Adventure – The UNUSUAL Genius of ENA" (shown below).

As series gained popularity, Ena, Moony, the Shepherd and other characters inspired fan art and memes on social media (examples shown below).
