Severo Sinvergüenza ("Cheeky Devil" in English) refers to a Colombian store that sells erotic-shaped waffles and offers its visitors personal striptease performances made by the manager of the restaurant. The store went viral in February 2023 after videos showed some employees interacting with customers, many finding them attractive, instigating thousands of people to visit the store and generating numerous memes making fun of the situation in the following weeks.

One of the earliest videos about the Severo Sinvergüenza^[1] store (which translates to "Cheeky Devil" in English) was posted by TikToker @beatbyvanity^[2] on October 13th, 2022, featuring an employee, Ray Cabrera, doing a sexual movement while holding a phallic-shaped waffle. The video received 1.4 million plays and 112,000 likes in four months (seen below).

The location would become viral again on February 18th, 2023, after TikToker @elparcerito_oficiall^[3] shared a close-up video of the store's employee, receiving 2.2 million plays and 54,000 likes in one month (seen below).

Online Reactions

Over the course of February 2023, several videos involving Severo Sinvergüenza's employees surfaced on the internet. For instance, on February 11th, Twitter user @QuickestTempa^[4] posted a video showing several customers eating the erotic-shaped waffles in unexpected ways. The post garnered 3.5 million views and 28,400 likes in one month (seen below).

By the end of the month, the small store started to receive thousands of customers, leaving long lines outside. TikToker @soylevinne^[5] showed this in a video posted on March 4th, 2023, after the location went viral. The video (seen below, left) garnered 1.8 million plays and 40,300 likes in four days. The creator also uploaded another video showing the crowd gathered at the store a day later, garnering 812,700 plays and 15,900 likes in three days (seen below, right).

Alongside ironic memes and funny customer reactions, some NSFW videos also went viral on social media, leading to some critics of the erotic-shaped waffle store employee's conduct. For example, on March 5th, Twitter user @Tweet1AOficial^[6] posted a montage with the store's front and an overlay text in Spanish saying "You're going to love this place.
