About

Simulator Game Parodies are a series of video games in which the player assumes the role of a bizarre animal or object for humorous affect, including Goat Simulator and Rock Simulator.

Origin

One of the earliest simulators to gain notoriety online was the free game Surgeon Simulator, which was created in late January 2013 by Bossa Studios employees Tom Jackson, James Broadley, Luke Williams and Jack Good as an entry for the annual video game competition Global Game Jam.

Spread

On April 1st, 2014, the game Goat Simulator was officially released by Bossa Studios for Microsoft Windows systems via the Steam software distribution platform, in which the player roams an open world environment as a wild goat (shown below, right).
