Tomb Raider is an action-adventure vido games franchise created by british studio Core Design Limited and later acquired by Square Enix in 2009.

Origin

The Tomb Raider franchise follows the adventures of Lara Croft, an archeologist who ventures in ancient ruins in search of precious artefacts. Playing as third-person action-adventure, the Tomb Raider games are also famous for their puzzle scenes.

The initial Tomb Raider game was released in October, 1996, and was met with widespread positive reception. The game received many sequels, with the series producing 12 main titles in the span of 20 years, as well as spin-offs and movie adaptations.
