On June 17th, 2020, musical artist Syko[1] released the song "#BrooklynBloodPop!," garnering over 15 million views on YouTube [2] in a year (shown below).

Spread

The song gained a significant fanbase in the months following its release, particularly in animated compilation videos making heavy use of anime and manga imagery. On February 22nd, 2021, YouTuber[3] qwwp posted a lyric video for the song consisting of various anime and meme imagery throughout, compiled from various Instagram accounts, garnering over 731,000 views in four months (shown below).

On March 8th, Instagram[4][5] account tokevaii posted an animated music video in a similar style set to footage from Kakegurui, garnering over 47,000 views in three months (shown below, left). The account posted another one set to Genshin Impact footage on April 26th, garnering over 100,000 views in two months (shown below, right).

TikTok Dance Trend

In May 2021, a dance trend set to a portion of "#BrooklynBloodPop!" became popular on TikTok. The trend sees TikTokers sway their hips side-to-side set to a portion of the song (examples shown below, left and right). The trend created an association between the song and swaying of the hips, which has carried into a number of properties using it.

Slowed Version

On May 6th, 2021, YouTuber Mr doraemon posted a slowed version of the song, garnering over 1.8 million views in a month (shown below).
