Take About 5 Dozen is a memorable quote from the Egoraptor web series "Awesome Series". The scene is a non-sequitur joke in which the character Awesome Man foils his villain's plan, when a chef appears in the background and says, "Take about five dozen eggs, start puttin' 'em in a bowl, mix the f*ck out of 'em. And whattya get? PENIS!!!!" The character uses the penis to destroy the villain. The character moment inspired a series of remix videos in the late 2000s.

Origin

On December 19th, 2007, animator Arin Hanson, also known as Egoraptor, published the video "Awesome Compilation Volume 6."^[6] When posted to Newgrounds ^[7] that day, the video received more than 2.6 million views in less than 13 years. Three years later, Hanson published an isolated version of the clip on YouTube, where it received more than 2 million views in less than 10 years (shown below).

Spread

In 2009, remixes of the video surfaced online. On January 4th, 2009, YouTuber Oliver M.D posted a German dub of the video. The post received more than 72,000 views in less than 12 years (shown below, left). Several months later, YouTuber JJokerDude shared the video "PENIS!! (With Electronic Sounds)." The post received more than 36,000 views in less than 12 years (shown below, right).

The recipe described by the chef also grew as a copypasta and a shitpost that has appeared on Yahoo Answers, ^[1] WikiAnswers,^[2] GiantBomb,^[3] Destructoid,^[4] Facebook ^[5] and more.
