Origin
This meme sometimes comes up in chat when playing Team Fortress 2. Supposedly, they were originally misspellings in the chat by young children, although sometimes the names are used to make fun of the associated class.

Scout: SCOOT
Heavy: HOVY
Spy: SPIE
Engineer: ENGINEAR
Soldier: SOLDER
Some people call Scout Scoot since he doesn't scout but rather moves fast
and sniper is is called swiper since he swipes in and steals kills but the rest are known to be named by misspellings
TF2worms Videos
Famous TF2 Youtuber TF2worms made multiple videos in which he played as each class. The title of each was one of the alternative names detailed in this entry.
