Coronation, Starscream? This is bad comedy!" is one of the most iconic quotes from The Transformers: The Movie (1986), spoken by the newly rebuilt Decepticon leader, Galvatron, right before he disintegrates Starscream, following his takeover of the Decepticon faction and following coronation ceremony.
The meme originated in the transformers community as a way to express disappointment, outrage or simply as a sarcastic commentary over some issue, and has been doing the rounds for decades. The first use of the image, has been around at least since 2013, and uploaded as an exploitable to several sites. Several variations of it have been created, however, the more popular and simpler, "This is bad comedy!" caption, with Galvatron raising his fist probably appeared in 2015 for the first time.
It has since been used in reaction to several instances regarding subject matters as different as pop culture, sports, and very regularly, political situations.
"The entire scene of Starscream's coronation is memorable for simultaneously being Galvatron's Establishing Character Moment and also where things go south for Starscream, ending with him being killed by Galvatron. The line is often quoted in response to something the user doesn't find funny or as a sarcastic remark in the format of X? This is bad comedy" to events such as Prince Charles' coronation on Twitter with Queen Elizabeth being portrayed as Galvatron." (TVTropes)
