This Is Where I Recorded and Mixed The Album and All The Gear I Used refers to tweets made in parody of a tweet by electronic musician Four Tet in which he captioned a picture of his set up for making his new record with the quote. The picture's simplicity led to parodies in which people posted various images with the quote on Twitter.
Origin
On October 25th, 2017, electronic musician Four Tet[1] uploaded a picture of his computer and electronics on which he made his new record. The tweet gained over 1,100 retweets and 7,000 likes (shown below).
Spread
The day after Four Tet posted the tweet, people began joking about it by using Four Tet's caption and adding different, humorous pictures. For example, Twitter user @AdventuresDub[2] posted the caption with an image of Kirk Van Houten from The Simpsons in front of his race car bed, gaining over 100 retweets and 300 likes (shown below, left). @TabsOut[3] uploaded a version with Alex Jones, gaining over 30 retweets and 190 likes (shown below, right).
Four Tet appeared to take the meme in good humor, tweeting a link to the twitter search for his caption.[4] Fact Magazine[5] and NME[6] covered the spread of the meme on the 27th.
