Tiger Neck Bite refers to 3D visualization of tiger biting on a human's neck posted by DeviantArt user in 2012. The image achieved popularity as source material for captions in January 2024.
Origin
On June 15th, 2012, DeviantArt[1] user ancestorsrelic posted two 3D renders of a tiger biting a human victim on its neck, tearing carotid arteries that supply blood to the brain (first image) and crushing their neck vertebrae (second image). The images accumulated over 18,300 views and 17,900 views on the site in twelve years, respectively (shown below, left and right).
On January 22nd, 2024, X[2] user @killthe_switch posted the first image with the caption "how it feels to be employed on a monday." The post (shown below) garnered over 19,000 reposts and 221,000 likes in three days.
Spread
Following the post, the image achieved popularity as source material for caption memes. For example, on January 22nd, 2023, X[3] user @BoobyFishWife posted the image with the caption, "How I grab my husband to take him to bed." The post (shown below) received over 410 reposts and 5,500 likes in three days.
On January 23rd, X[4] user @sambajapones posted the image, captioning it, "I want to do this with someone but romantically." The post (shown below) garnered over 4,000 reposts and 23,000 likes in two days.
More memes based on the image were shared online, primarily on X, in the following days.
