About

You Met Me At A Very Chinese Time In My Life is a catchphrase parodying a line of dialogue spoken by the protagonist in the 1999 movie Fight Club, "You met me at a very strange time in my life." The parody phrase was popularized on social media throughout 2025 as it was increasingly used in memes, many of which share it alongside videos or images related to visiting China, being a Chinese person or doing something stereotypically Chinese. The phrase is ultimately meaningless and purposefully absurd.
