On September 27th, 2018, the Twitter account for Sony Pictures[1] tweeted an image of Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers, announcing a film was in development and to be released in October of 2018. The tweet gained over 17,000 retweets and 50,000 likes (shown below).

After the tweet was published, it was quickly shared on Twitter, often with captions referencing how it was welcome on that day as Americans watched hearings about Brett Kavanaugh's sexual assault allegations regarding his SCOTUS nomination.
