About

Tough Guy Face Lens Filter, also known as Chad Filter and Mewing Filter, refers to a Snapchat filter that makes one's face looks like Gigachad, giving them one raised eyebrow and an exaggerated chin. The filter grew popular in July 2024 on TikTok as users applied it to their own faces and the faces of various characters.

Origin

Snapchat[1] released a filter named "Tough Guy Face Lens". In the filter, the user's face is altered by giving it a raised eyebrow, a sharp jaw and an exaggerated chin.

It is unclear when the first edit was uploaded, but on June 21st, 2024, TikTok[2] user @idolatro24_ uploaded the earliest video to introduce the filter, using it with his face in the video. It received over 4.5 million views in one month (shown below).
