Utah Jazz Fan Hair refers to jokes made about the remarkable hairstyle of an attendee of the NBA playoff game between the Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets. The attendee's voluminous hairstyle led to commentary and Totally Looks Like memes.

Origin

On April 21st, 2019, the Utah Jazz played the Houston Rockets at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Utah. In the fourth quarter, ESPN cameras showed a woman in the crowd with a large, voluminous hair style (edited footage shown below).

Spread

After the clip aired, Twitter users quickly began making jokes about the woman's hair. A picture of the hair gained over 19,000 points on /r/Justfuckmyshitup^[1] (shown below, left). Twitter user @cjzer0^[2] posted the picture with "This is the most amazing thing I've seen since aquanet got pulled off the market," gaining over 90 retweets and 250 likes (shown below, right).

Jokes about the hair were covered by Yahoo^[3] and Larry Brown Sports.^[4] Many users made "Totally Looks Like" jokes comparing the hairstyle to figures in pop culture. For example, user @BaileyCarlin^[5] tweeted a comparison to a still from Seinfeld, gaining over 30 retweets and 200 likes (shown below, left). User @r0bato^[6] tweeted a comparison to the helmets worn in the film Spaceballs (shown below, right).
